Reminder

Good day!  Sorry I missed you last week.  I was dealing with more medical issues.  I complained about it and was reminded; 1. I am almost 80 years old! 2. I am in good company with many from the Bible; 3. God’s ways are higher than mine, it’s all in His plan.  I wound up going to two more doctors for excruciating pain in my right foot.  I went to bed Saturday night and awoke during the night to find I could not use my foot.  It felt like a broken bone.  I went to urgent care Monday morning hoping to get an x-ray to see what had happened.  They diagnosed it as Morton’s Neuroma…huh?  Well I had an appoint already set up to see a Podiatrist on Wed so I decided I would let him weigh in.  He said it was like carpal tunnel syndrome in the foot.  The nerve that comes around the top of my foot was inflamed and irritated.  So was I!  Remember how Jacob walked with a limp to remind him of who was boss and Paul lost his eyesight to reminded him that he needed spiritual vision.  This all of a sudden became a very minor problem.  And it turns out that as Dr. Friedman and I became acquainted he reveled that he was an expert on the holy land and did talks, walking people through the landmarks.  This was after he had asked me what I did. He asked me if our group would like to have the talk.  I jumped at it and realized why I had been sent here.  By the way my appointment was for Tuesday and he stood me up going somewhere to handle a problem.  I started calling around for another doctor to no avail, so I begrudgingly went back the next day and made a new friend.  As Peggy always reminds me, “Jimmy be nice”.

Tonight in our study in 1 Timothy we will be in chapter 5 where Paul is teaching him how to handle his flock, “Never speak harshly to an older man, but appeal to him respectfully as you would your own father.  Talk to younger men as you would to your own brothers.  Treat older women as you would your mother, and treat younger women with all purity as you would your sisters.  Take care of any widows and we will discuss what constitutes a widow. (NLT)

Timmy be nice.  Good word for us all.  It’s what the world needs now!

As we fast and pray tomorrow, I know that our plates are full but as my friend Tom Draffin says, “Keep praying and keep believing!”

God bless you and keep you during these trying times.  LIFE meets tonight at 7:00, join us if you can for communion, prayer and Bible study.
