Thank God, my itching has subsided for now. The trade-off to be on prednisone was unbearable and I stopped two days ago. The biopsy said I am allergic to something I am ingesting so I am trying to schedule a test with an allergist. I appreciate your prayers as this has been a hard couple of weeks. I have been reminded in my sorrow about Who is in charge, and it ain’t me. A friend from my hometown posted this week that he was pulling away from the political arena and finding peace in this simple lesson. Well, as hard as it may be I too will be backing out of the politics and concentrate all of my energy to seeking first the kingdom of God. I was reminded this morning of Psalm 144 where David said, “Blessed be the Lord my Rock; Who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle – My lovingkindness and my fortress, my shield and the One in whom I take refuge, who subdues my people under me. Lord, what is man, that you take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him? Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.” I just love how David puts things in perspective!
God instructs us to pray for those in authority that we may lead peaceable lives.
David fought many battles in his life and demons also, but he always trusted God and repented. I believe that his repentant heart was what caused God to call him a man after His own heart. Our Bible is replete with examples of how to live and serve and I am convinced that it is our duty to learn these lessons and teach others for the sake of God’s Kingdom on earth. And this thought brings me to tonight’s study in 1 Timothy chapter 3 where Paul is instructing him with a synopsis of the Gospel.
“God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory.” Amen!
