Fasting Tomorrow

Good morning everyone.  I will not be able to fast with you tomorrow but I will be in prayer with you throughout the day.  I am on a round of prednisone which requires food in an attempt to calm the incessant itching problem I explained last week. With the drugs and salves he has prescribed I am getting some amount of relief.  Biopsy declared that I have some sort of allergy to something I am ingesting and I am working my way off many of my supplements and certain foods.  I am much better, praise God.  My good friend and head of the Ebenezer Prayer Chain quoted from Psalm 139 this morning a great word of encouragement, thanks, Tom.  This leads me to think about the 23rd where we are told He will make us lie down in green pastures beside still waters and restore our souls; He will lead us in paths of righteousness for His namesake.  Praise God!

Friends of ours are in the keys on their sailboat and are currently being attacked by Elsa.  Join me in prayer for that area up through Georgia and South Carolina.  I cannot read the paper or check my phone any longer without stopping to pray for our nation and the grip of evil we are experiencing these days; everywhere you look.

The sin of rebellion that Lucifer brought down to us is rampant and causing anarchy from coast to coast.  We have the greatest weapon against it and I am not sure God’s people are availing themselves of its great power…PRAYER!!!  I know that the scripture from 2 Chronicles, 7-14 is becoming a cliche but we need to cling to it and believe in it.  “We can ask God and believe Him for the answer, having no fear but a living faith to come into the presence of God.  ‘In His presence is fullness of joy; at His right hand are pleasures forevermore (Ps 16:11)” Wigglesworth. Remember the song,

“In the presence of Jehovah, God almighty, Prince of Peace.  Troubles vanish, hearts are mended, in the presence of the King.”  Praise God!

I read this morning that the Presbyterian church has taken Paul’s advice to Timothy about leadership in the church which we will study tonight in our meeting at 7:00.

Looks like clear skies and great weather for our communion tonight, hope everyone can make it.

God be with you all, Jim
