Good morning, sorry I missed you last week. I have been under attack since 6/19 with a reoccurrence of an itching problem I have dealt with for many years. It happened a few years ago and the PCP, the allergist, nor the three dermatologists could identify the problem. So we treated the symptoms and it finally left me. Well, it is BAAACK with a vengeance. I have a rash from my head to my knees which results in unbearable itching 24/7. When I was a kid I heard my mother talk about mad itch…this must be it. I was unable to focus last Tuesday and write the blog. The new drug, the new dermatologist gave me turns me into a zombie. The new salve he ordered is $50.00 per tube (toothpaste size) and it is hard to use freely for someone as frugal as me, but it helps when I do. When I take the drug, all I want to do is sleep, so I have been in a lot of prayer. God reminded me this morning that I am an encourager by gift so He encouraged me with Psalm 46 again. “God is my refuge, God is my strength; a very present help in trouble. Therefore I will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. As usual, it ain’t so bad after all.
Praise God, I get the results of the biopsy on Thursday to determine what it is and how best to treat it. As we all know when things like this come we don’t always understand why but His ways a higher than our ways. “He has shown thee oh man what is good; and what does the Lord require of thee but to do Justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” Walk in obedience in all things.
