Hallelujah, I am upright again. If you did not know, I was a very sick man, All of October in the bed trying to get rid of pneumonia which morphed into asthma in November. Tried to hear from God and think He said to make LIFE meeting weekly which we will start tonight. So from now on (till further notice) we will meet every Tuesday at 7:00 PM in the Agape Chapel. Join us if you can!
As I lifted several prayer chains this morning Holy Spirit brought to my mind, King David. If you need some encouragement at the beginning of this new year as we look back on 2021 with amazement go back and read about this man after God’s own heart in First and Second Samuel. Someone said of me 30 years ago, he is the most repentant man I know. That was because I had more to repent of than most people he knew. But I could not hold David’s coffee. Talk about a dysfunctional family, WOW! Murder, adultery, disobedience, fornication, and incest in his house and his children. What made the difference in his life? Repentance! Something we don’t hear about from the pulpit much anymore. It means to make a 180-degree turn from what you are doing. I see a lot of people quoting 2 Chronicles 7:14 lately but they read it through rose-colored glasses. Read the entire passage: 13 at times I might shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or I might command locust to devour your crops, or I might send plagues among you. 14 then IF my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn (repent) from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land.
One day David decided to have a census which God had forbidden. God arranged David’s punishment for disobedience and sent a plague that killed 70,000 people and continued until David repented.
Great New Year’s Resolution….Confess your sin, repent, ask for forgiveness and go forth as men and women after God’s own heart.
