The subject of today’s blog and fasting reminder is patience. I have been carefully studying it for 50 years since I asked for it!
I did a video recently in which I thanked God that His ways are higher than mine. I can’t imagine the carnage had I been in charge of the world. History teaches us why if we accept that creation of God’s people occurred around 4000BC, let’s look at how man has tried His patience. Lucifer, the angel responsible for surrounding the throne with worship rebelled and was kicked out along with many of his cohorts. They brought their sin to the earth. He managed to pervert Eve and Adam into his disobedience just as he had committed in heaven. Next, we find that of the first two reproduced humans, one of them was a murderer. Next, it occurs to me that He made women very pleasant to men and apparently even to angels who perverted the gift of sex. So the earth became populated with something less than what God intended, Gen 6:5. “The Lord observed the intent of human wickedness on earth, and He saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil.” NLT. He decided to destroy it all, found one righteous man, and flooded everyone else. You know the story of Noah! And all of this we managed in only 1650 years. Next, the people (descendants of Noah) decided they could do anything they wanted so they started building a city and a tower that could reach the heavens. I think God must have shaken His head and when He said, No No No, not again. He came down, caused great confusion when he gave them different languages. They could not communicate so they scattered all over the known earth. So He started over and in just 285 years there was so much sexual sin and blatant disobedience in the area that He destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to rid the earth of the evil. Then they lived happily ever after. No! even though God sent prophet after prophet to warn them they continued to disobey. Then came the exile, you would have thought 400+ years making brick in Egypt would have taught them. Since then, how many wars have we been through because of our differences? We apparently still have not learned to obey God’s law to love Him with all we have and love each other as ourselves. I read there were 12 mass shootings in the USA this past weekend, I can’t even record all the crimes man has committed against man in the same time frame. As I said, I am very glad that it is not my call. I am glad for those I pray for to have a closer walk with God, that He tarries. As we fast and pray tomorrow, please consider this. Finally, God said, OK I will send My Son, surely they will believe Him and turn from their evil ways, repent, and return to God. Nope, just read the news…evil is rampant.
