Unknown gods

I was reading today in Acts and read in chapter 17 where Paul confronted the men of Athens about the alter with the inscription “TO THE UNKNOWN GOD”. We know that these men were making with their hands, gods to be worshiped but evidently something was tugging at them about one not make with hands and Paul explained it to them. They were far from being happy to hear about it as they wanted to stay with the god that brung them to the dance. As I prayed about this I was reminded about the “unknown gods” in the lives of Gods people today. See Galatians 5:19-21 for a list of the gods we continue to worship in one way or another in the world today. As I continue to teach about the Lordship of Christ, I am amazed at how many people who do not want to give up the throne of their life and their little gods to the headship of Christ. As we offer Jesus to people today I think it is imperative that they hear the truth, and one of those truths is in Galatians 5 in the list of the things we still cling to in place of taking up our Cross daily and following Him. I trust you will think of those in your life that need to hear the truth….”those that practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
I love you and appreciate you being there
