Prayer and Fasting

In my prayer time this morning I was reminded of several people with whom I have dealt in the last year and the only way I can describe them is victims.  The definition is someone who is harmed, hurt by something either natural or manmade.  I did some study on that mindset and found that some people like that position and therefore continually find themselves so afflicted.  The opposite of victim is survivor by some writers and it makes sense to me.  A survivor is one who is unaffected by events either natural or accidental.  In my years of study in scripture I find the victim mindset antithetical to my Christian beliefs.  Romans 8:31-39 teaches me that I have been made more than a conqueror and over comer in life through the blood of Jesus Christ.  The great cloud of witnesses in Hebrews 11 teaches me that through faith in God I will never be a victim, no matter what comes my way.

If you ever feel “Wo is me” when dealt a bad hand,  remember this great scripture song we learned in the ’70s.

“We’ve been made more than conquerors; overcomers in this life; we’ve been made victorious through the blood of Jesus Christ.”  And start to praise God!!!!!

Bible study tonight at 7:00.
