Twas the night before Christmas. I was praying and thinking this morning about our fast day tomorrow and came to the conclusion that we should forgo the fast tomorrow…not the prayer! In Matthew 9:14-15 Jesus answered Johns disciples when asked why they did not fast as his did, “Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them?” Tomorrow we will celebrate Immanuel, God with us, as we celebrate His birth. In honor of that amazing event and not to mention all the wonderful food the family has prepared for the occasion, I will forgo the fast tomorrow and join you in praying about the celebration.
Wigglesworth recounted a story this morning in my reading about a man whom he has told that through the God-man, we come into a new divine order, an order that will make us awake to righteousness, peace, and abounding in God. The man said, I cannot understand this truth, Wigglesworth, and Smith replied, “No, friend, you never will. It is a thousand times bigger than your mind. But Christ’s mind replanted in your natural order will give you a vision so that you may see what you cannot understand. What you will never understand, God thoroughly understands. He blesses you abundantly. Now grace, now life, now the ministry abounds to us. Amen, as Mary sang after the prophecy from Elizabeth, “For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. Immanuel!!!! I love you guys and will feel your closeness as we pray and celebrate tomorrow. MERRY CHRISTMAS.
