Fasting reminder

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.  I have sworn and confirmed that I will keep Your righteous judgments.  I am afflicted very much; revive me, O Lord, according to Your word.  Accept, I pray, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord, and teach me Your judgments.  My life is continually in my hand, yet I do not forget Your law.”  Psalm 119: 105-109!  Several years ago I received an assignment to give away Bibles because people were not reading and paying attention to the word.  I was to offer to churches and groups the opportunity for us to come and make a short presentation about the importance of this and give them free Bibles.  So it became a ministry of LIFE and remains today.  Unfortunately, most churches are not interested in the project so I have tried it on the street with signs directing people to pull in for Free Bible.  I have made several appearances in church and ladies groups over the years but it is very slow.  I believe this scripture was given to me to stay the course to which I can only say yes sir.  STOP THE PRESSES!!!!  I am in the middle of writing this and I just received a text from a lady who was told about our presentation at a large Baptist church in Savannah, asking if I would come there and give out Bibles.  God is good and very timely.  Thanks, I needed that!

Ezekiel is one of my favorite prophets and when I think about how I love the Word of God I am reminded that he was made to eat the word and sometimes I feel as if I could devour it myself.  In one place during the presentation, I tell people that God wants to communicate with you, but it won’t be through your cell phone, and encourage them to take our paperback Bible with them just like they do their phone and when they have a wait time pull it out and read it.  I realize that I am preaching to the choir but felt like a reminder of how important it is to seek Him first (in His Word) would be timely.  I am always amazed at what I find in a text that I am very familiar with when I take the time to re-read it.  God speaks to me with what I need for the moment.  In these uncertain times, let’s remember that our God is faithful and His mercies are new every morning.

And now may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.  Amen

LIFE meets tonight at 7:00, join us if you can.  We have special guests from Indiana visiting tonight.
